
We are thrilled to announce UMD AMA’s member of the month for March 2025. Rudra Soni is a sophomore at the Robert H. Smith School of Business studying marketing and information systems. Members earn this award for exceptional participation in the UMD AMA through superior attendance and active engagement to support the club’s mission and community.
Rudra joined AMA to learn more about the marketing industry and surround herself with like-minded individuals who are passionate about marketing! In addition to being an AMA member, Rudra also serves as the Director of Social Events. Though a newer member, she is excited to gain valuable industry insights, hands-on experience, and networking opportunities that will allow her to grow both professionally and personally.
The aspect of marketing that interests Rudra the most is digital marketing and user engagement. She finds it fascinating how companies build seamless and authentic connections with their audience, such as Spotify with their Spotify Wrapped campaign!
Outside of the AMA, she has experience as a Social Media marketing manager at her hometown cafe, Bagel Bakery Cafe where she managed their social media accounts to create content to boost customer engagement and profits. She is also the VP of Marketing at BITS, where she creates content and flyers, and delivers weekly updates, increasing follower growth on their platforms. From both experiences, she has gained valuable insights into content strategy, creativity, audience engagement, and brand communication.
